Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Manali – Local Exploration

Upon arrival in Manali, check in to your hotel and take the day to relax and acclimatize. If time allows, stroll through the bustling Mall Road, visit Hadimba Temple, or enjoy a riverside walk near the Beas. This evening is all about soaking in the charm of this hill town, prepping your gear, and getting excited for the trek ahead. Overnight stay in Manali.

Day 2: Manali – Solang Valley – Trek to Dhundi (8,500 ft)

After breakfast, drive to Solang Valley (about 30-40 minutes), the starting point of the trek. From Solang, begin your short and scenic hike to Dhundi, a beautiful meadow surrounded by pine trees and the roar of the Beas River. The trail is gentle and ideal for beginners, with panoramic views of snow-capped peaks. Upon reaching Dhundi, settle into your campsite amidst the serene alpine setting. Enjoy dinner around a cozy campfire. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 3: Dhundi – Trek to Bakar Thach (10,800 ft)

Post breakfast, gear up for the next leg of your trek as you ascend from Dhundi to Bakar Thach, a high-altitude grazing meadow used by local shepherds. The trail offers mesmerizing views of Hanuman Tibba, Seven Sisters, and other mighty Himalayan peaks. The terrain becomes slightly more rugged, but the beauty around makes every step worth it. Reach Bakar Thach by afternoon, rest, and explore the area. Enjoy a warm meal and overnight camping under the stars.

Day 4: Trek to Beas Kund (12,772 ft) – Return to Dhundi – Drive to Manali

Rise early to start the most awaited part of the trek — the hike to Beas Kund, the glacial lake that is the origin of the sacred Beas River. As you trek upward, the terrain turns rocky and barren, and the air thinner, but the sight of the turquoise lake surrounded by towering peaks is truly soul-stirring. Spend some peaceful moments at the kund, soaking in the mystical beauty and taking photographs before heading back to Dhundi. From there, drive back to Manali and check into your hotel. Overnight stay in Manali.
