Itinerary
Day 1: Chandigarh to Narkanda
Our company executive will greet you upon your arrival at Chandigarh Airport, Railway Station, or Bus Stand. We understand that you are embarking on a journey to refresh your body, mind, and spirit. Your chosen vehicle and our professional driver will take you to Narkanda, covering a distance of 174 kilometers.
You will witness the beauty of Shimla, Fagu, Theog, and Matiana en route, along with the rich heritage of Himachal’s apple orchards. Upon arrival in Narkanda in the evening, hotel staff will be ready to welcome you warmly.
Day 2: Narkanda to Sangla via Sarahan
After breakfast, we proceed to Kinnaur’s mesmerizing Sangla Valley via Sarahan. On the way, you’ll explore Hattu Peak, Kali Temple, and the unique Cricket Ground. Hattu Peak, at 3400 metres, is surrounded by lush forests of conifers, oaks, and maples.
After this, the journey continues through Sarahan and finally reaches Sangla. The entire journey from Narkanda to Sangla takes approximately 4 hours. Stay overnight in a hotel in Sangla Valley.
Day 3: Local Sightseeing of Chitkul-Sangla Valley
After breakfast, the day begins with a tour of the stunning Chitkul-Sangla Valley. The first stop is Kamru Fort, which houses the sacred Kamakshi Devi temple. The architecture here is ancient and unique.
Post blessings, we explore Sangla Valley, known for its clear rivers flowing from the Baspa Hills and surrounding glaciers. We then head to Chitkul village, the last Indian village near the Indo-Tibet border, famous for its potatoes. Later, return to the hotel for rest.
Day 4: Sangla to Kalpa – Local Sightseeing (2,759 metres / 9,048 feet, 51 kms / 2-3 hrs)
Today, we travel to Kalpa and the traditional Roghi village. You’ll pass through Recong Peo en route. On arrival in Kalpa, enjoy a Tibetan-style lunch and take in the awe-inspiring views of Mt. Kinner Kailash.
Kalpa offers a serene experience with pitched-roof cottages, apple orchards, and glimpses of Himachal’s untouched culture.
Day 5: Kalpa to Tabo (3,050 metres / 10010 feet, 190 kms / 9-10 hrs)
After breakfast, we head to Tabo. It’s a long but scenic 9-10 hour drive through Puh, Gue, and Nako. Gue village is known for housing a 600-year-old mummified Buddhist monk.
Reach Tabo by late evening and check into your hotel for a peaceful overnight stay.
Day 6: Tabo to Kaza (3,200 metres / 10,500 feet, 51 kms / 3 hrs)
After breakfast, visit the ancient Tabo Monastery, founded in 996 CE. It is adorned with ancient scrolls, murals, and Buddhist texts.
Later, travel to Kaza via Dhankar Monastery and Fort. The view from Dhankar, located on a cliff, is truly spellbinding. Arrive in Kaza by evening.
Day 7: Sightseeing Around Kaza (5-6 hrs)
Enjoy a full day exploring Kaza, the sub-divisional headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti. Learn about the cultural and geographical similarities between Kaza, Tibet, and Ladakh.
Explore the local market and interact with the warm-hearted locals. If the weather permits, visit Hikkim – home to one of the world’s highest post offices. Return to Kaza for an overnight stay.
Day 8: Kaza to Chandratal Lake
Start early for Chandratal Lake via Kunzum Pass and Batal. Known as the “Moon Lake,” Chandratal is a sacred and scenic destination in Himachal.
After a short trek, you’ll witness the crescent-shaped lake reflecting the surrounding peaks. Spend the night at the lakeside campsite and enjoy a bonfire with fellow travelers.
Day 9: Chandratal Lake to Manali
After breakfast, head towards Manali via Rohtang Pass and Kunzum La. The journey is filled with stunning sights of Mt. Chandrabhaga 13 and the Dhaka glacier.
Reach Manali by evening and check into your hotel for a relaxing night stay.
Day 10: Manali to Chandigarh (310 kms – 9-10 hrs)
Your memorable journey comes to an end as we drive back to Chandigarh. En route, seek blessings at the Hanogi Devi Temple.
