Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Manali and Transfer to Kaza
The journey begins with your arrival in Manali, where you’ll be welcomed by our representative. After a brief introduction and refreshments, you will start your scenic drive towards Kaza, the main town in Spiti Valley, which will take around 10-12 hours. The drive itself is an adventure, offering breathtaking views of the rugged Himalayan landscapes, rivers, and charming villages along the way. You’ll pass through picturesque towns like Rohtang Pass and Gramphu before reaching Kaza. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax for the evening.

Day 2: Visit Key Buddhist Monasteries in Kaza
After a wholesome breakfast, your exploration of Spiti Valley begins with a visit to the Key Monastery, the largest and most prominent monastery in the valley. The monastery is perched on a hilltop and offers a stunning panoramic view of the valley. As you explore the monastery, you’ll get a chance to see ancient Buddhist murals, statues, and prayer wheels, along with the peaceful lifestyle of the resident monks. Following this, take a short drive to Kibber Village, one of the highest villages in the world, known for its untouched beauty and traditional Tibetan architecture. Day 3: Explore Tabo Monastery and Village
On Day 3, after breakfast, you’ll head to the historical Tabo Monastery, known for its ancient murals and spiritual significance. Founded in 996 AD, Tabo is one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries in India and is often referred to as the “Ajanta of the Himalayas” due to its rich artwork and historical importance. You’ll spend time exploring its many temples, statues, and paintings that have survived the test of time. Afterward, take a leisurely walk around Tabo Village, where you can interact with the locals and understand their daily lives in this high-altitude, remote location.

Day 4: Visit Dhankar Monastery and Lhalung Village
After breakfast, visit the Dhankar Monastery, which is dramatically perched on a cliff at an altitude of 3,894 meters. Following your visit to Dhankar, head to the peaceful village of Lhalung, where you can visit the Lhalung Monastery, another important Tibetan Buddhist site. Day 5: Visit Chandratal Lake
Day 5 brings you to the stunning Chandratal Lake, one of the most beautiful high-altitude lakes in India. Located at an altitude of about 4,300 meters, the crescent-shaped lake is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and offers a serene, reflective environment. Spend time exploring the surroundings, taking in the natural beauty, and perhaps enjoying a peaceful moment by the lake. The drive to Chandratal is an adventure in itself, passing through challenging terrains that only add to the experience. After a fulfilling visit, you’ll return to Kaza for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Visit Langza and Hikkim Villages
On Day 6, after breakfast, you will visit Langza Village, known for its spectacular views of the Himalayas and its large Buddha statue that stands overlooking the valley. Langza is also famous for its rich fossil deposits, and the surrounding landscape offers plenty of opportunities for nature walks and photography. Next, visit Hikkim Village, home to the world’s highest post office. Here, you can send postcards and interact with the friendly locals who lead a peaceful life amidst this isolated region.

Day 7: Departure from Kaza
After a final breakfast in Kaza, you will begin your journey back to Manali, retracing the same scenic route. Depending on your departure plans, you can either return to Manali for onward travel or continue your journey to Shimla or another destination in Himachal Pradesh.
